5 stars!

The dehydrated sourdough starter I received from Kensington Sourdough was perfect! The instructions that were provided were so clear and thorough that it was easy to rehydrate and get to an active sourdough starter in about 6 days for me! My first loaf of bread was delicious, and I can't recommend this product enough!

My mistakes…

I received this starter several weeks ago but didn’t get it going until last week because I was travelling. All was going well except for the fact that I ignored your suggestion to put a piece of tape over the on button of the oven. Twice, I started my oven with the sourdough starter in it. Both times I caught it be for the temperature got higher than 200 F. However it seems to still be working despite my carelessness. You’re correct… it is hard to kill it! I need to take some out and add some one more time but it has still doubled in size, lots of bubbles and seems good. So I will attempt to make a loaf of bread tomorrow. I have made sourdough bread before with a different starter, so we will see how this turns out.

Huzzah!

I have been making sourdough for the last few years but somehow managed to kill my previous starter. I ordered this and followed the directions to activate it. The starter is lovely and bubbly and my bread turned out beautifully 🙂 Thank you!
